Clouds

After the first render test, Reno also started to play around with the clouds generated through fluid particles. Although the .hdr image did a good job lighting up the scene as well as providing a nicely coloured sky with clouds, we felt the scene was somewhat empty. So we decided to put in some extra clouds and have them match up the colour of the sky.

Above image contains one fluid container with a colour ramp.

Above image consists three separate cloud containers with various colour ramps and density.

Above two images are examples of colour and shadow tweaking for the cloud particles.

Above images are test renders of two cloud containers at different opacity level and ramp scale. The density of the clouds however is also effected by the intensity of the light.

Above image is a render of the cloud particles and a seafort with a directional light at 1.0 intensity.

Above image is a render of the same shot with the directional light at 0.4 intensity.

Above image is the render of the same shot with the directional light at 0.2 intensity, which we decided to use in the end.

Final look of the clouds.
